The Monaco Blue Initiative (MBI) 2024, held during Monaco Ocean Week, gathered global leaders, decision makers, and advocates dedicated to safeguarding our oceans. This prestigious event, under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, served as a crucial platform for dialogue and collaboration on pressing marine conservation issues and the promotion of a sustainable blue economy.

The President of our association, Enrico Toja participated at the heart of the discussions were urgent challenges facing our oceans, from plastic pollution to marine biodiversity conservation. The event’s keynote speakers, including Prince Albert II himself, emphasized a resolute commitment to action, declaring that humanity is no longer powerless in the face of environmental degradation.

Among the esteemed participants were prominent figures such as Charlina Vitcheva, Director General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries at the European Commission, and Christos Stylianides, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy of Greece. Their contributions underscored the indispensable role of the private sector in driving sustainable ocean governance and innovation.
